The City reserves the right of "Sale or No Sale" as it deems in its own best interests to do so.

Bidders interested in submitting a response to this solicitation are required to be registered in the City's online procurement system, WebProcure. Payment Terms Net 30 Days
Additional Payment Information - Upon notification of award the successful bidder shall make complete payment to "City of Grand Rapids Treasurer" and obtain a receipt marked "Paid in Full" from the Project Manager. All payments shall be cash, check, or money order only.
Additional Information The fire apparatus is a 1989 Spartan American Eagle pumper that is powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V92 engine with an Allison HT740 automatic transmission.

Location of Scrap, Fire Apparatus:
Fire Department, Training Center, 1101 Monroe Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. The fire apparatus shall be available for viewing on Wednesday, May 13th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. only.
Pre-Bidders Conference
Scope of Work The City requires 24 hour advance notice to the designated Project Manager prior to scheduling pickup of the scrap fire apparatus. The vendor is required to check-in with Project Manager with identification to verify being on-site. No pickup of the scrap fire apparatus shall occur without payment in full to the Project Manager.

The Contractor shall provide all labor & equipment necessary to completely remove the scrap fire apparatus. Awarded vendor shall have five (5) days from notice to completely remove the scrap fire apparatus. All materials shall be sold "as is - where is."
Special Requirements The Contractor shall be responsible for the disassembly, removal /recycling and disposal of hazardous/recyclable fluids in accordance with all Local, State and Federal regulations.

Contractor shall be responsible for the destruction of and barring from any use of the vehicle identification number as defined by Local, State and Federal laws now in effect.

The fire apparatus is to be sold as scrap only, as it is inoperable, has been deemed "nonrepairable"and shall not be used for emergency use. Upon disposal of the fire apparatus, the Contractor shall provide proof of disposal to the City Project Manager. This document shall include date of removal and date of disposal.
